Learning

Hmm...managed to drag my lazy bum out of the bed and get geared up for bball. Well, as expected on a typical Sunday, kinda crowded. Managed to shoot a few hoops before I was dragged erm...I mean invited to play a 5 on 5. The opponents are the guys from Phillipines and man, their teamwork is OUTSTANDING. Always managed to find 1 on 2 loopholes to do some great passes and their passing is FAST, considering what I usually play. It's like "plop, plop, plop, chop" (ermm...means pass 3 times and score). Cool. It's that kinda connection that players felt with each other that makes them able to "sense" each other on court. Met that uncle again and he dropped me a pointer or two on shooting jumpers and some high post movements. Sleak~ It's a well-harvested day.

Basket(old)man

Went down in the morning to shoot some hoops. Was thinking (and hoping) that the court was empty. Instead, it's CROWDED! All the O'Levels kids how juz got their results the previous day and the primary school kids who juz finished their supplementary class. The only comforting sight was that an uncle (older than me! =P) was playing there. At least I'm NOT THAT OLD. Haha. Juz shooting around, still trying to get that feel and momentum of the jumper.

Practice don't make perfect. Practice makes habits.

It's kinda funny coz the primary school kids reminded me of myself years ago when I started playing the game. Shooting with 2 hands and clumsy movements but always full of zest and energy going after the ball. Haha. One actually asked me how to shoot and do a lay-up properly. Well, as a big brother I naturally explained the basics to him and ended with a demostration ALPHA. Haha. Feels good to see that he's shooting in more hoops than before. Then he starts asking he how to do all kinda funny things like stunts or 3 pt-er which of course I said, get the foundations right first. Yea. If ya start doing all the funny stuffs and along the years it'll become a habit that's hard to change.

-sidetrack-

Went out with the RAVENS yesterday for dinner coz Mike's flying off tomorrow. Well, sometimes do feel a bit odd (one out) when it's all about soccer and football and streetball that they talk when I'm like "...." and more ".........." Haha. Kinda cool to see them still playing competitive soccer together after all these years. Having a common target, training together, getting strong together, winning and losing together.

Maybe if the one who inspired me @ Primary 4 ain't Michael Jordan but Beckham or Owen or some other football player. Perhaps today I'll be part of the Ravens eh? Haha but too late, now I'm Basketman. If I never played bball I wouldn't have been who I'm now. Well...train harder!

Looking at her blog makes me feel...inferior at times. =( Maybe she's (like I said) the only gal who's so close to that ideal in my mind. Looking at her (and all the people around her) makes me feel that I'm really lacking in lots (AND LOTS) of area. Well...I guess I my 10 year BP is going to commence, I gotta start building and working on myself to excel in more areas and be successful... Hmm...sounds like a tedious journey ahead. =I

Kinda late by 1 day but...ORD LOH!

Haha. Glad, really really glad to have my pink IC in my own possession again. FEELS GOOD. Feels free. No more extras, no more confinements, no more crap. WAHAHA. Shiok. Now, the headache of finding a job will set in. Haha, but at least it's better than worrying about the problems previously stated. =)

Hmm...was reading meli's blog when that sudden inspirational idea/philosophy/or-whatever-crap-u-called-it juz hit me from somewhere.

Being strong is not trying to hide all your weakness and pretending that you're invincible. Instead, it takes more courage to reveal your fragility and then grow out of it. Then, you have gained true strength.

Hmm...sounds logical, sounds right, sounds cool. Will try to live by that idea. Don't know. Maybe it's the "now-you're-21-and-no-longer-a-kid" feeling that sets into me. Tends to WANT to feel and be more responsible to the things and people around me. Be a bit more serious, juz that bit more. Was talking to Boon about that 10 year BP thingy. Haha. Don't know. Somewhat inside I know that it ain't going to work but I guess it's something ideal that I can look forward to, keep myself (or my heart) from being distracted or always wondering. Still believed that if I don't think about it, don't wonder about it, don't talk about it, it'll slowly be less of a priority in my life. Although like a human I'll wish and long for it, at least by that times, I'll have a stronger will and determination to resist the impulsiveness and irrational behaviours. Haha. Meanwhile, it'll just take discipline and willpower to cultivate that habit. =)

On 21st

Had a BBQ last night for a little gathering of friends, as well as celebrate my upcoming 21st and ORD! Haha. Was glad that most of them came, friends of 1/2H, 3/4A, 03S08, OCS guys and RV buddies... It's really great to see some old faces (and so constantly seen faces! haha) and did a little catching up with them. Feels old talking about good OLD times, be it the stupid sabotage of detty in Miss Liao's class, how CYY makes me hate Chinese, gossiping of the beloved Chen Lao shi going to get married, or how the bbq (raging fire shown later) was like the one we had at checkpoint "RAIN" in Brunei. Memories that will be kept securely in that memory box of mine, wonderful stuffs not to be lost. Realised how matured some of them really become (and attached =D) from the conversations and how much I haven't really changed throughout the years. It's fun trying to stop ZR from destroying the pit when he insisted on throwing 2 boxes of matches into the pit or when Russ the scout boy failed to use 3 matches to start the fire. Lol. Also, was really touched at the presents that the peeps got me, think that all were carefully chosen according to my preferences and tastes (and my waist and body size). If the clothes don't fit, I'll work hard to exercise to cut down the excessive mass! Haha. It's really the company that counts. =)

Haha, the celeb kinda ended with some cake in my face from Marv and then a gruelling S121C (Section 1 21st Course) that makes my head spin like mad from the start and then attempting to complete some 'tough' obstacle courses. Haha. The pictures will show it all. =)

Setting off for the BBQ! See the safe driver beside me? =D

The Gathering.

However, despite all, it's something else that really made my day. For those who know, shhh. =)
